What drives Jeff Bier to pursue justice as a personal injury Lawyer

When he speaks with someone facing a difficult situation, he can make a difference right away by listening and offering clear guidance. And at the end of a case, when he has negotiated or litigated a favorable outcome, he knows he has helped shape the rest of that person’s life for the better. He sees his role not only as an advocate but also as a guide who can carry the legal burden so clients can focus on their recovery.
Jeff knows the legal system can have a profound impact on people. One significant case that inspired him was that of the Radium Girls in Ottawa, Illinois from the early part of the last century. After working for factories painting numbers onto watches with radioactive paint, many young women got extremely sick, and some even died. They pursued legal action and fought those companies. Because of the courage of these women and their personal injury attorneys (many of whom worked for no money), workers’ compensation laws were changed, and OSHA was eventually created.
Jeff learned about the Radium Girls case while working on his last project as a geological consultant, cleaning up the radium deposits left behind by those factories. He knew then that he was making the right decision by leaving his career and pursuing a law degree. He saw the effect a good personal lawyer could have on the outcome of someone’s life and the community as a whole. He knew that was the kind of impact he wanted to make by becoming the best personal injury lawyer.

"It is very gratifying to know that I have helped someone achieve justice and have a more secure future."
- Jeff Bier

What motivated Jeff to become a Personal Injury Lawyer in Chicago

Jeff had thought about going to law school for a long time. The years between his undergraduate degree and his legal education gave him valuable life experience, including opportunities to work with attorneys from a corporate perspective as well as during times when he personally required legal guidance. Getting to know the lawyers and understanding the work they were doing and how they helped people inspired Jeff to become a personal injury attorney in Chicago.

Part of Jeff’s motivation came from a deep desire to challenge himself and demonstrate that he could thrive academically and professionally in the legal field. Jeff Bier grew up in a small town, and although he didn’t know it at the time, his upbringing was only a step or two above poverty. Generally, no one in his family went to college: out of 30 first cousins, only 4 graduated from college. It was a personal victory for Jeff to receive his JD degree with honors from a great law school and enter the legal profession. It is not something that he takes for granted.

This passion to progress and improve has continued throughout his legal career. Jeff is always on the lookout for new solutions; he refines ideas and arguments made in the past and explores new ideas. His commitment to continually sharpen his abilities as a personal injury lawyer directly benefits his clients, leading to more compelling advocacy and exceptional results.

Other interesting things about Jeff Bier

Outside the courtroom, Jeff leads an active and diverse life. Rather than fitting the mold of a stuffy or uptight attorney, he brings warmth and enthusiasm to everything he does, driven by a true love of fun and life. Jeff is fond of all kinds of music, golfing, scuba diving, and bicycling. He loves to cook, especially French food that he really shouldn’t be eating.
Jeff loves rolling up his sleeves to fix things and work with his hands. This surprises most people, especially since fellow lawyers frequently tease him about his sharp wardrobe. According to them, he’s the only lawyer who can troubleshoot a mechanical issue without ever getting a wrinkle in his suit.
Mr. Bier really loves traveling and has been to every state in the U.S. except for Hawaii. His journeys have also taken him abroad to over 40 countries. He has conversational skills in Portuguese and Spanish and is eager to continue expanding his proficiency in both languages.
Even with a busy schedule, he always makes time for family and friends. He genuinely values these relationships and is always available when loved ones need him.

"The harder and more diligently I work to improve my craft as a personal injury attorney, the more beneficial it will be to my clients as they will get more remarkable results."
